You're playing the riff in the WRONG position. The riff is played by SLIDING up to the E note on the 5th string to the 7th fret.

Holy cow! Looking thru your lessons, i.e. Gloria, Louis Louie, Shaking All Over, Baby Please Don't Go, Pipe Line, Apache, etc. I feel like I am back in the 60's jamming with some garage band buddies. This one is a real ringer. Totally outside the traditional fare for it's time. It always grabbed me but even tho it was a major hit back in the day you rarely hear it. Thanks for posting these and keep em coming..

Beautifully done, Bruce! The Lively Ones remain my all time favorite band. I've always felt, that Ritchie Valen's 1958 instrumental, 'Ritchie's Blues' was the first surf instrumental. This may be due to Bob Keane's studio know-how.
